Approaching I-90 along Rainier Ave S, there is an option to take the Mountains to Sound Trail to the left, or go back to Rainier Ave and the Freeway Station (my destination) to the right.
Watch the path to the right, from this view diving into the ground cover, animate as I walk toward it.
Just by walking toward the path to the right, uphill, I can see further down the trial, now posing an intriguing curve around the bend. (This is what people did before the Internet... or even TV)
More of the path emerges...
The path turns the other direction!
Now the tree trunks peel away to reveal the continuing downward spiral.
A new destination appears, a triangular highlight points the way to the underpass under the freeway exit ramp.
At the bottom of the curving path, I glimpse the main freeway underpass and appreciate the last bit of this oasis I am walking though.
The underpass presents its own geometries, but unlike the choreographed path, these are better observed as an image than experienced.
